Disc Void 1000mm

Current Whereabouts Unknown

"Disc Void 1000mm" focuses on the "Void" and the lure of nothingness. the absence of pre-creation is represented in pure black and is guaranteed to be the darkest thing in any room. The current whereabouts of the original painting are unknown.

inspired by the absurdism and nihilist philosophies, "Disc Void 1000mm" attempts to visualise the idea that if you stare into the void it will eventually stare back. The super-black paint absorbs 99.98% of visible light and is large enough to fill your field of view completely, an eery sense of suspension in total darkness is often felt by viewers.

this painting treads the line between something-ness and nothingness. The pure blackness makes the painting hard to photograph on the automatic settings.
